Jemma is the founder of Pilates for Parkinson’s, a specialised movement programme currently in development to support individuals living with Parkinson’s through the core principles of Pilates.
Drawing on her expertise as a Pilates instructor, personal trainer, and professionally trained dancer - as well as her qualifications as a Dance for Parkinson’s teacher - Jemma recognised that the fundamental pillars of Pilates directly address the early challenges often experienced in Parkinson’s, including reduced mobility, stability, and coordination.
Pilates for Parkinson’s integrates these principles into carefully structured, accessible sessions designed to enhance confidence, improve functional movement, and promote overall wellbeing.
Jemma’s programme reflects her commitment to creating inclusive, supportive, and empowering environments where individuals can work safely, progressively, and with a clear sense of purpose. Through this initiative, she aims to offer a meaningful, evidence-informed pathway to movement that supports both physical ability and quality of life for those affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
